Stage limits

The maximum number of speakers who can present from the Stage is:

  • 5 if using the Hopin backstage
  • 10 if using the StreamYard backstage

The maximum number of attendees who can watch the Stage is 100,000.

Hopin backstage limit

The maximum number of people who can join the backstage via the backstage link and watch or request to speak without being on camera is 500.

StreamYard backstage limit

The maximum concurrent number of people who can join the StreamYard backstage via link is up to 10, they can then be moved in and out of the backstage to allow for more.

Session limits

The maximum number of speakers on a Session is 20 for Sessions (both recorded and non-recorded). Any additional screen share or third-party integration sharing counts towards the limit.

The maximum number of attendees who can watch a Session is adaptive.

Depending on the number of Session speakers on screen, the number of attendees who can watch is adaptive:

Number of Speakers
(includes number of screenshares)
Maximum Viewers
3000
1500
1000
750
600
500
428
375
333
10  300
11  270
12  250
13  230
14  214
15  200
16  187
17  176
18  166
19  157
20  150

Note: The maximum number of Sessions you can create and run at the same time is unlimited.

The above limits are not enforced until the max of 20 speakers or 3000 viewers is reached. However, the quality will deteriorate as more speakers and viewers keep joining the session.

Expo booth limits

The maximum number of speakers on the Expo booth set to Session type is 10.

Like the Sessions, the maximum number of attendees who can watch an Expo is adaptive.

Depending on the number of speakers on screen, the number of attendees who can watch is adaptive:

Number of Speakers
(includes number of screenshares)
Maximum Viewers
3000
1500
1000
750
600
500
428
375
333
10  300

Note: The maximum number of Expo booths you can create and run at the same time is unlimited.

The above limits are not enforced until the max of 10 speakers or 3000 viewers is reached. However, the quality will deteriorate as more speakers and viewers keep joining the expo booth.

Example for when limits are reached

You start your session with 3 speakers presenting on screen and there are 500 attendees watching it. Everything is running smoothly since session limits haven't been reached: up to 1000 attendees can watch a session with 3 speakers on screen.

Later on, another 12 speakers join the screen in the same session, so now you have 15 speakers on screen in total. This is beyond the session limit: only 200 attendees can watch a session with 15 speakers on screen. At this point existing attendees will start facing issues of degraded experience and no more attendees will be able to join the session.

Please keep this in mind when organizing your sessions or expos.
